Pre-School
At GRA, we focus on:
The Whole Child:
Here at GRA we focus on the whole child and all of their developments. We look at each child individually and work at their level to help foster their growing minds and bodies.
Physical Development:
GRA provides many opportunities throughout the day to work on large and fine motor skills. Whether it is in the classroom cutting playdough, or stringing beads, to the outdoors climbing and jumping. We make sure children get a chance to work and develop their physical skills to make them stronger.
Cognitive Development:
GRA is committed to helping each child reach their full potential. Teachers tailor their lessons to help children learn beginning reading, writing, and phonics skills. Our daily lessons incorporate math, science, social studies, and STEAM. The Pre-K program helps build a strong foundation to help children flourish in the later grades. They go into kindergarten ready to learn because of the foundations built earlier!
Social/ Emotional Development:
This aspect of development is the most important on at this age. At GRA we take pride in helping children grow socially and emotional. Our daily lessons incorporate these developments. We teach children how to express themselves when they are happy, angry, sad, anxious, etc. We allow ample time throughout the day for children to socialize with peers and teachers to help develop their social skills. We also teach children to problem solve and critical think by learning through real life scenarios and experiences in the classroom.
Curriculum
GRA invested in purchasing a new curriculum called Frog Street. It is a curriculum that exercises all the domains of a child’s development. It also embeds Dr. Becky Bailey’s conscious discipline, which is something we use daily. This new curriculum is tailored by age, and is a continuum of the one before. So it is building on prior knowdlge throughout the preschool years. It is built on rigor and hands-on learning. It includes subjects such as ELA, writing, sentence structure, science/nature, social studies, STEAM, and more. And with all of this, children get daily Islamic and Arabic lessons that go hand in hand with our English lessons. Children at GRA really get the full experience of learning through various means to reach each child.

Staff
Here at GRA we take pride in our staff. All of our pre-k staff are not only certified and have higher education degrees, but also have over 50+ years of experience combined. The staff cares for each child as if they were their own. They work hard and plan for each child’s needs and development. They show love, compassion and empathy. They instill the love of Islam throughout the day continually. Because of the experience they have, they are able to truly teach and make a difference in the lives of each student.
