Elementary
Our elementary school curriculum, catering to kindergarten through 5th grade, embraces a student-centered approach and fosters an engaging learning environment through center-based learning across all content areas.
The curriculum strictly aligns with Michigan Common Core Standards, employing the Houghton Mifflin Journeys Reading Program for ELA, supplemented by Brain Friendly Reading and Six Plus One Traits of Writing.
Math instruction is based on the Savvas envision Mathematics Program, supported by Singapore Math Primary Mathematics.
Science and Social Studies are thoughtfully taught through TCI, following Next Generation Science Standards and state-aligned guidelines.
Our center-based model encourages differentiation and small group instruction, nurturing each student’s individual learning needs and fostering a deeper understanding of subjects.
Technology integration begins with teacher based technological use in the classroom (SMART Boards, ELMO machines, and projectors) to provide supplemental instruction to concepts in the form of videos and interactive problem solving. Students are assigned supplemental mathematics and reading through technology platforms (IXL and Razkids). They also visit the school’s computer lab on a weekly basis not only for supplemental instruction that enhances what is covered in the classroom, but to familiarize them with hardware equipment and navigation.
